Voodoo Woman

I had mentioned in earlier posts I will be heading to New Orleans this Friday for the Voodoo Music Festival. By the looks of weather.com, I will finally get to rock some cold weather outfits I have been wanting to try. First up, A denim button up shirt with black leggings, knee high socks and brown boots. Here are bits of pieces of what I have in mind:

Friday Find.

I am currently obsessed with wedge mary janes. Wedges are usually a spring/summer shoe, but these wedges could not be more perfect for fall and winter. Add a cute pair of tights and a sweater dress and your look will be complete!

A Big Tulle.

For Halloween I will be venturing to New Orleans for The Voodoo Music Festival! Snoop Dogg and Blink 182 in the same weekend?! You can't find that anywhere, but New Orleans of Course.

My parents lived in New Orleans for a little over two years, but I never experienced Halloween there and from what I hear, it is a Halloween like no other. Some of you might say, "Well every day is like Halloween in New Orleans", and this may be true, so all the more reason to go all out for the actual day!

For my costume I have decided to incorporate a tutu. Being as I am not a 5 year old ballerina there are not many stores that sell adult tutu's. I had to make tutu's a few months back and couldn't believe how easy it was! My after pictures will soon follow.Bellow is an easy how-to guide.

You can add a tutu to just about anything to make a great last minute Halloween costume!

A Cure for the Uncommon Cold.

Houston has its first real cold front moving through and this is enough for every gal to climb up into her attic or dig under her bed for the chance that she might get to wear a cute winter coat (even it is only for 2 days!)

One of the best hidden online stores for apperal is Victoria Secret! When living in Lubbock, I was lucky enough to experience all four seasons for 4 years. My mom got me a beautiful camel colored coat from Victoria Secret for Christmas. See picture below.

Victoria Secret has a beautiful selection of coats. Somewhat pricey, however a coat is in an investment. I still wear my coats that I got in high school! VS has free shipping for orders over $100 and if doesn't fit they have a very easy return policy!

Friday Find.

Every Friday I will showcase what I find to be the great find for the week! First up, this lovely handbag from H&M. Nothing goes better with a cute fall outfit then a great leather bag. To me the classic look of this handbag makes it a staple piece that could be in your closet for many years to come. At only $34.95, how can you beat that?! If only I had a H&M near me. We will be together one day.

Jack in the Pumpkin.

It has been quite sometime since I carved a pumpkin, but I attempt to do so with a nice Blue Moon Harvest Ale in hand this weekend! While searching around on Pinterest (totally addicted), I found some great links for pumpkin carving templates. You really can't go wrong with anything on the Martha Stewart Website.

Simply print the template and use it as a stencil on your pumpkin. The templates can be found at: www.marthastewart.com/halloween-center

Pictures soon to follow!

Cheers to it almost being Friday!

Sorostitute Accessory Staple.

It is hard to not go out and see a twenty something wearing a piece of Kendra Scott Jewelry . I broke down a few months ago and finally bought a pair of her earrings (which I Love.) As much as I would love to buy everything on her site, it is quite pricey. Once again I went into Sam Moon and found a necklace that resembles the Kendra Scott one below:

I managed to snag one in white and also one in black and gold. Here is the white I got for just $12.99!

Smell the Roses!

I haven't always been a watch lady, but sometime during my senior year of college I have been obsessed and feel naked now without one. A watch is a timeless accessory that truly will never go out of style. As much as I would love to be rockin' a Rolex, I gotta stick to the twenty-something, working gal budget! I have yet to spend over $30 on a watch and I don't plan on stopping that anytime soon with the great finds I have come across. One of my favorite new watches is my Rose Gold Watch I snagged from Sam Moon for $14.99.

Don't be discouraged if the watch you like in the store doesn't fit! You can take it to any jewelry kiosk in your local mall and it usually cost about $15 to have it repaired!

Cheetah Girl.

One essential fashion accessory every girl should own is a simple pair of cheetah flats. Yes, I said it, animal print flats. I invested in a pair from target about 5 years ago and I am still amazed by how many outfits I can pair these with. Unfortunately I have worn them to their wit's end and now my big toe sticks out in one of them. Bummer. You might be surprised by how many looks you can rock with the cheetah!

Sir Sparkles A lot.

The trend of sparkles, sequins, etc. seems to come back just in time for Fall. One of the easiest way to rock this look is your nails. I discovered the best glitter polish this summer when I asked a girl if she had Rockstar Nails (see picture below) and she said it was an OPI polish, so naturally I bought it the next day. Another great thing about fall is being able to wear dark nail colors and I have never gotten more compliments on a nail polish then I do with OPI's "Ski Teal You Drop." See when sparkles meets dark below!

Fall, I thought you would never arrive!

Houston reached record breaking temperatures this summer and we rarely ever saw a day where the thermometer didn't break 100! With the weather finally starting to get back to normal, I can't help but to get all giddy for fall styles. One of my favorite looks that I have yet to rock (but plan to do so in the very near future) is knee socks under boots. Rachel McAdams pulls of this look flawlessly!
